Short-term financing securities issued by the Foreign Exchange Fund Special Account are often abbreviated as FX securities. They are issued to supplement the shortfall in yen funds that the Foreign Exchange Fund Special Account needs to purchase foreign currency. In April 1999, they were merged with Ministry of Finance securities and food securities to become government short-term securities. 外国為替資金特別会計が発行する短期融通証券で，外為証券と略称されることが多い。外国為替資金特別会計が一時的に外貨を買取るための円資金が不足する場合，それを補うために発行されるもの。 1999年4月，財務省証券，食糧証券と統合し，政府短期証券となった。
