...His book Schizophrenia (1927) was the first to introduce Bleuler's concept of schizophrenia to France, and is famous for its understanding of the basic disorder of schizophrenia as a loss of living contact with reality. It is a classic work of psychopathology along with his subsequent works Viable Time (1933) and Towards a Cosmology (1936). His wife, Françoise Minkowska (?-1951), was also a Russian-born psychiatrist, known for her research on the genealogy and personality of epilepsy, Van Gogh's illness, and the Rorschach test.
