…A red, blue, or brown spot on the skin. It can refer to temporary spots such as subcutaneous bleeding or brown pigmentation after eczema has healed, but it usually refers to a congenital skin malformation called a nevus, a type of mole. Most birthmarks do not disappear naturally.
