An industrial city in the southeastern part of Idaho, USA. Population 39,590 (1980). Located in the Snake State, it is in the center of Idaho potato production. The main industries are potato and beet processing, but it also has the state's largest livestock farm and one of the largest chinchilla farms in the United States. Due to its proximity to Utah, there is a large Mormon population and a magnificent Mormon church. There is also an Atomic Energy Commission research facility in the western suburbs.
