Pinacoteca Vaticana (English spelling)

...It was named after its former location in the Lateran Palace. (5) Vatican Art Gallery: A large collection of Italian paintings built in 1932 by Pope Pius XI (reigned 1922-39). The origins of the collection date back to the return (1816) of a large number of works of art that had been handed over to France by the Treaty of Trentine (1797).
