Polar molecule

...Chemical term. When there is a bias in the distribution of electric charge in a molecule or chemical bond, it is said to have polarity, and is called a polar molecule or a polar bond, respectively. In addition, a substance made of polar molecules is called a polar compound, a liquid is called a polar liquid, or a polar solvent, and a polar substituent is called a polar group.
