Pole of Inaccessibility

Japanese: Pole of Inaccessibility(英語表記)PoleofInaccessibility
Pole of Inaccessibility

The aurora is a circular area with a radius of about 2,500 km around the South Magnetic Pole, and Showa Station is located in this auroral zone. The farthest point from the continent is called the Pole of Inaccessibility (latitude 82°06′S, longitude 54°58′E), and the Soviet Union (reached it on December 14, 1958) and the United States explored the area.
[Topography, Geology]
Antarctica lies almost entirely within the Antarctic Circle, and is divided into East Antarctica (also called Greater Antarctica), an older continental mass belonging to the Eastern Hemisphere, and West Antarctica (Little Antarctica), which is geologically newer, by the Transantarctic Mountains.

From the North Pole

The polar region is a ring of light with a maximum frequency of about 2,500 km around this point. The area around 84°N and 170°W, far from the coast and densely populated by sea ice, was once called the Pole of Inaccessibility or Ice Pole, but this has become meaningless due to the development of aircraft and powerful icebreakers.
[Weather and Climate]
During the winter, when the polar night continues, radiative cooling dominates the heat balance in the Arctic.
