Pragma

Japanese: pragma
Pragma

...America's most representative philosophy. In Japan, it is sometimes translated as "pragmatism," but this translation has led to many misunderstandings about pragmatism, and few people use this term these days. Pragmatism is America's greatest contribution to philosophy, and is one of the mainstreams of modern philosophy along with existentialism, Marxism, and analytic philosophy. Thinkers who represent pragmatism include C.S. Peirce, W. James, J. Dewey, G.H. Mead, F.C.S. Shiller, C.I. Lewis , C.W. Morris, and others.
