Folk songs. Folk songs called Ohara (Owara)-bushi are found in various places, such as "Tsugaru Ohara-bushi," "Akita Ohara-bushi," "Etchu Owara-bushi," and "Kagoshima Ohara Yoshi-bushi," and all of them have a chanting phrase "ohara (wara)" before the last line of the lyrics. The origin of the word "ohara (wara)" is unknown. The surname of a character named Ohara Shosuke in "Aizu Bandaisan" may have been created because this chanting phrase felt like a person's name. Other similar forms include Yassa (from Miyazaki Prefecture's "Yatsusa-bushi") and Aresa. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
