Regulation egg

Japanese: regulation egg(英語表記)regulationegg
Regulation egg

...In multicellular animals, the developmental fate of each part of the egg or embryo is determined very early in development, so that if part of the embryo is killed or removed, an individual lacking certain tissues or organs will be produced. In contrast, eggs that produce morphologically normal or nearly normal individuals even when parts of the egg or embryo are removed or when early cleavage stage blastomeres are isolated and allowed to develop are called regulation eggs. Mosaic eggs are widely found in comb jellies, protostomes that perform spiral cleavage, and ascidians, while regulation eggs are commonly found in coelenterates, echinoderms, hemichordates, and vertebrates.
