…Born in Ferrara. Along with C. Tura and Ercole de' Roberti (c. 1450-96), he was one of the most important painters of the 15th century Ferrara school. His masterpiece, the murals in the Lunar Room of the Palazzo Schifanoia (c. 1470), were commissioned by the monarch Borso d'Este.
