Rumba box

In the 19th century, the sanza was introduced to Latin America, where it began to be used in the music of black Caribbean people. The rumba box (also called the bass box, a low-pitched instrument used in ensembles, especially in Jamaica; a modern, enlarged version of the sanza, used as a substitute for the double bass) is one example.
