A former town in Hakui County, central Ishikawa Prefecture. Facing the Sea of Japan, most of the town is mountainous except for the plains in the west. The Nanao Line runs through the town. The town produces rice, figs, and vegetables, and has industries such as textiles, electronic parts, and plastics. It is home to Noto's highest peak, Mt. Hodatsu (637m), a scenic spot, and Imahama Beach. In March 2005, it merged with Hakui County's Shio Town to become a town, Hodatsu Shimizu Town. 53.42 km2 . 8,938 people (2003).
