Soyuz osvobozhdenie (English spelling)

The Russian Social Democratic Party (SR), a Marxist party, and the Narodnik-affiliated Socialist Revolutionaries Party (SRs) were born and active in the early 20th century, but it was the liberals who dominated the situation. The anti-government landowners held conferences of zemstvo (local government) representatives to exert pressure, while the liberal intellectuals who belonged to the Soyuz osvobozhdenie (the predecessor of the Kadets) repeatedly held liberation parties for the purpose of political demonstrations and demanded constitutional government.
