In India, there are various words to express truth, but the most representative are tattva and satya. Tattva literally means "being that," and has the nuance of the essence of things, and in the Sankhya school it is used in a way that can be translated as "principle." Satya means truth in the sense of "will definitely be realized" or "will never be wrong."
