When the Russo-Japanese War broke out in 1902, he volunteered to join a special missions unit and, together with Yokokawa Shozo and others, attempted to blow up the iron bridge of the Chinese Eastern Railway (near Flargi Station), a major artery of Russian military logistics, but was discovered near Tsuruchiha Station (the neighboring station), and executed by firing squad on the outskirts of Harbin. After the war, he was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, 5th Class, and enshrined at Yasukuni Shrine in 1905. <References> Yozo Murao, "The Patriot Oki Teisuke", South Manchuria Railway Company, "South Manchuria Railway Travel Guide"
