kṛta-yuga (English spelling) krtayuga

...In Hindu cosmology, as seen in the Puranas, the universe repeats a cycle of periods of creation (jokou) and destruction (ekou). These periods of creation are divided into four periods (yugas): Kṛta-yuga, Tretā-yuga, Dvāpara-yuga, and Kali-yuga. Collectively, these are called the "four periods." All things are said to be in their best condition at the beginning of the first Kṛta-yuga, and to deteriorate over time until they are finally destroyed at the end of the fourth Kali-yuga.
