A collection of renku haikai poems. Compiled by Tosei (Basho). Published in 1680 (Enpo 8). 2 volumes. Including additions, it contains solo recitations of kasen by 21 early Basho disciples, including Sanpu, Bokuseki, Bokutaku, Ranran, Ransetsu, and Rashiya (Kikaku). With Tosei having become a master two years earlier and receiving high praise from the haiku world, this is an ambitious work that calls on the world to bring about a new style of poetry in the transitional period of the 1680s (Tenwa and Jōkyō periods).
