Kosay, HZ (English spelling) KosayHZ

...The Sphinx Gate was discovered in 1835, and as excavation progressed it became clear that it was a city ruin from the New Hittite Kingdom. However, in 1935-39, Turkish archaeologists HZ Koşay and RO Arik discovered a unique culture from the lower layers of the city ruins, which dates back to the Early Bronze Age, making it a particularly important site in academic history. The first layer belongs to the Phrygian period, the second and third layers to the New Hittite Kingdom, the fourth layer to the Old Hittite Kingdom, the fifth to eighth layers to the Early Bronze Age, and the ninth to fourteenth layers to the Chalcolithic Period. It was the thirteen royal tombs and their grave goods on the fifth to eighth layers, thought to date back to around 2500 BCE, that led to the recognition of the existence of a unique culture.
