Born May 14, 1887. After working as a professor at his alma mater, Tokyo Higher Normal School, he became an engineer at the Ministry of Education's Institute of Physical Education, and in 1930, he was involved in the founding of the Japan Gymnastics Federation. In 1941, he became the first Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education at Tokyo University of Education. He introduced softball and handball to Japan. He became the Chairman of the Japan Physical Education Instructors Association. He passed away on January 29, 1966. He was 78 years old. He was from Hyogo Prefecture.
