Harald Blåtand

Japanese: Harald Blåtand(英語表記)HaraldBlatand
Harald Blåtand

...there are two burial mounds, two rune stones, a triangular "sanctuary" surrounded by colonnades, the earliest wooden church under the present church, and the remains of a pagan temple below that. One of the rune stones was erected by King Gorm the Old for his wife Thyre, and the other by King Harald Blåtand (?-c. 986) for his fathers Gorm and Thyre. On it Harald boasts that he "took Denmark and Norway for himself and made the Danes Christians."...

From Sven I

...Reigned from about 985 to 1014. Around 985, he rebelled against his father, Harald Blåtand (?-985), and seized the throne. From 994 onwards, for about 20 years, he repeatedly invaded England and collected large amounts of Dane geld.

From Denmark

...The first Danish kings built the Danevirke, an earthwork in the southernmost part of their region, and devoted themselves to the defense of the trading town of Hedeby (Heidhav) and the defense of their homeland. As an extension of this activity, the Viking activities led by the kings were an extension of this activity, and they agreed to use the Eider River as a border with the Frankish Kingdom (811). Eventually, a royal family arose in the land of Jelling, and around 970, under the rule of Harald Blåtand (reigned around 935-985), the kingdom was Christianized, and his son Sweyn I conquered England and became its king (1014). His second son, Cnut II, became king of England in 1016, and after the death of his brother Harald II in 1018, he also became king of Denmark, and in 1028 he was also elected king of Norway, becoming king of three kingdoms (this is called the North Sea Empire). Svend II (r. 1047-74), son of Cnut's sister Estrid, established the civil order that led to modern Denmark during his reign, and later kings would trace their lineage back to him in some way.
