Colonel [town] - Osa

Japanese: 大佐[町] - おおさ

A former town in Atetsu District, northwest Okayama Prefecture. Located in the Kosakabe River basin, a tributary of the Takahashi River, this town was once one of the main transportation routes between San'in and San'yo. Livestock farming is thriving here, with Wagyu and dairy cows bred. The town produces shiitake mushrooms, cucumbers, and tomatoes. The main settlement is Kosakabe along the Kishin Line. In March 2005, it was incorporated into Niimi City along with Kamigo Town, Tetta Town, and Tetsunishi Town in Atetsu District. ^{121.25 km2} . 3,951 people (2003).

岡山県北西部，阿哲郡の旧町。高梁(たかはし)川の支流小阪部(こさかべ)川の流域を占め，古くは山陰・山陽間の主要交通路の一つ。畜産が盛んで，和牛，乳牛の飼育を行う。シイタケ，キュウリ，トマトを産する。主集落は姫新(きしん)線に沿う小坂部。2005年３月阿哲郡神郷町，哲多町，哲西町と新見市へ編入。121.25km²。3951人（2003）。
