The first person to perform cardiac catheterization on a human in 1929 was Werner Forssmann (1904-79), a German. At the age of 25, he inserted a ureteral catheter through a vein in his left arm to the right atrium, and attempted cardiac catheterization a total of seven times. In 1941, André F.
