ecumenism

...the movement for Christian unification that aims for one holy church. The modern unification movement, which was started by Protestant churches in the 20th century and has since gained the participation of the Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, and others, is called ecumenism. Of the major world religions, no religion has produced as many heresies and sects as Christianity, which have led to political and social conflict.
