Laforet, C. (English spelling) LaforetC

...This group has been described as "perhaps the most precious treasure produced by European lyric poetry in the first half of the 20th century" (Hugo Friedrich), and its core consists of F. Garcia Lorca, V. Aleixandre, and J. Guillén, a poet of pure poetry, who have gained worldwide fame as poets and playwrights through their works "Gypsy Songs" and three great tragedies, including "Blood Wedding."
[Postwar Literature]
The Franco dictatorship after the civil war, which divided the country, drove many talented writers abroad and oppressed many talents, leading to a literary barren period for some time after the war, but the dawn of postwar literature was marked by novels such as CJ Serra's The Family of Pascual Duarte and Carmen Laforet's (1921- ) Nothing, poetry by D. Alonso's Son of Wrath, and theater by A. Buero Vallejo's The Story of a Staircase. Since then, there has been a steady development, and a new momentum has been felt since the death of General Franco in 1975. During this period, the achievements that reached a world-class level could be cited as novels such as Luis Martín-Santos's The Silent Hour and J. Goytisolo's trilogy, Identification, Restoration of Count Don Julián, and Rootless Juan.
