Culaea

...The stickleback and the three-spined stickleback are also found in North America and Europe. In addition to the two genera mentioned above, the freshwater genus Culaea is found in central North America, the marine genus Apeltes is found along the northeastern coast of North America, and the marine genus Spinachia is found along the coast of western Europe (each with one genus and one species). The nest-building and spawning behavior of sticklebacks (illustration) have been best studied in the case of the three-spined stickleback.
