…English theologian and philosopher. Head of the Cambridge Platonic School, which aimed to revive Platonic philosophy through Cambridge University. Criticized Calvin, Descartes, Hobbes, and others from the standpoint of eternal philosophy. His major works include The True Intellectual System of the Universe (1678) and Treatise on the Immutable Nature of Morals (1731).
