Other well-known examples include the crown of the German Empire, eight 7th-century crowns excavated near Toledo, Spain in 1858, and the crown of the Russian Romanov dynasty (made for Catherine the Great in 1762). In England, the royal family and nobility were required to wear a coronet during ceremonies, with different decorations according to rank.
