Broad Peak

…It stands on the northeast side of Concordia, the confluence of the two headwaters of the Baltoro Glacier, and its summit can be seen from about 50 km downstream. In 1892, the British explorer Conway saw its wide and imposing appearance and named it Broad Peak, and it is now called Falchan Kanri, which has the same meaning in Baluchi. The ridgeline connecting the main peak (8,047 m) and the central peak (8,016 m) to the north forms the watershed with the Shaksgam River valley on the east side, and is also the border between Pakistan and China. …
