On the other hand, the Celts, who had advanced to the lower Danube and the Near East before the Germanic peoples from around the end of the 6th century BCE and had come into contact with the Scythians and Persians, spread the custom of wearing long trousers (French braies) to Germania and Gaul as they moved westward under the pressure of the Huns in the 2nd century BCE. During the period of the migration of the Germanic peoples from the end of the 4th century onwards, the Goths brought the horse riding techniques and trousers of the Sarmatians to Western Europe. ...
