Palola siciliensis , a member of the Euclidae family, is called the Pacific palolo and is widely distributed from central Honshu southward to the Indian Ocean, the Western Pacific Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Atlantic Ocean. Eunice schemacephala , also of the Euclidae family, is called the Atlantic palolo and is found in Florida, Jamaica, and other places. Palolos reproduce by filling their bodies with eggs or sperm and releasing them into the sea while swimming in schools on the surface of the ocean.
