ape

Japanese: ape
ape

In English, a long-tailed monkey is called a "monkey," a tailless monkey is called an ape, and a prosimian is called a "lemur" or "prosimian." The image that comes to mind when we hear the word "monkey" is that of an animal with a smart face and eyes, good at climbing trees, dexterous hands, fond of fruits and nuts, and living in groups in the forest. …

From 【Apes】

...A general term for mammals belonging to the Pongidae family of the Hominoidea, suborder Anthropoidea, order Primates. In English, it is called anthropoid or ape, but the latter means tailless monkey, and can also be applied to monkeys with extremely short tails such as black macaques and Barbary monkeys. It consists of the Hylobatinae and Ponginae subfamilies, the former of which are called lesser apes and the latter great apes.

From [Synthetic detergent]

…(1) Dishwashing detergents must be safe, not damaging the appearance, taste, or smell of vegetables and fruits when washing, leaving little residual residue, and causing minimal roughness to the hands when used. For this reason, detergent ingredients include anionic surfactants such as sodium linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS), sodium alkyl sulfate (AS), sodium alkyl ether sulfate (AES), sodium α-olefin sulfonate (AOS), and sodium alkyl sulfonate (SAS), nonionic surfactants such as polyoxyethylene alkylphenol ether (APE, POE・P), fatty acid alkanolamide (DA), and other amphoteric surfactants. The mainstream of dishwashing detergents today are LAS and AES with an average alkyl chain length of C12 , and AES with 2 to 3 ethylene oxide additions. …
