A British group at the pinnacle of rock. Vocalist Mick Jagger (1943- ), guitarist Keith Richards (1943- ), and Brian Jones (1942-69) were young people who loved rhythm and blues. They came into contact with guitarist Alexis Korner, who was the first British musician to start playing blues, and formed a group in 1962. They named the group after the song "Rolling Stone" by blues singer Muddy Waters. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
