Also known as a train operation chart or timetable diagram. A chart showing train operation status on a fixed line. The vertical axis shows station names with the starting station at the top, and the horizontal axis shows time. The arrival and departure times of each train are shown at the intersection of the station line and the time line, with down trains shown with diagonal lines from the upper left to the lower right and up trains shown with diagonal lines from the lower left to the upper right. Train numbers, operating sections, passing trains, waiting, and other necessary operational information are also listed.

列車運行図表，ダイヤdiagramとも。一定線路の列車運転状況を表した図表。縦軸に上端を始発駅として停車場名を，横軸に時刻を示し，各列車の着発時刻を停車場線と時刻線の交点にとり，下り列車は左上から右下へ，上り列車は左下から右上への斜線で表示する。列車番号，運転区間，行違い，待避，その他運転上の必要事項も記載。
