Historical map - historical map (English spelling)

Japanese: 歴史地図 - れきしちず（英語表記）historical map

A map showing geographical events in historical times. It is a restoration of the landscape and conditions of each era in the past, and the difference between an old map and an old map is that it was not created at the time, but was restored in later times from documents and literature. Generally, there are maps showing the state of control of territories, ancient place names, ancient capitals, ancient settlements, road names and transportation routes, conqueror's invasion routes, and the juxtaposition of battles.

歴史時代の地理的事象を表わした地図。過去のそれぞれの時代の景観や状態を復元したもので，古地図との違いはその時代に作成したものでなく，後世になって資料や文献から復元図化したものであること。一般に領有地などの支配状態を示したもの，古地名，古都，古集落を示したもの，街道名や交通ルートを示したもの，征服者の進攻ルートや合戦の対置関係などを示したものなどが多い。
