Two Catholic synods held in Lyon, France. (1) The first (1245) was convened by Pope Innocent IV, with about 150 participants, mainly French and Spanish bishops. It resolved on 22 chapters, including the excommunication and dethronement of Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II, which was the biggest issue, and the defense of the Latin Empire and taxation to restore the Holy Land. (2) The second (74) was convened by Pope Gregory X, with the main topics being union with the Greek Church, the restoration of the Holy Land, and church reform. 200 bishops from all over the country participated, including a nominal representative of the Greek Church. They accepted the creed, which included provisions for the primacy of the Pope, and the Apostles' Creed, which included the Filioque, was recited during mass, achieving a brief union of the Eastern and Western churches. He established a conclave (a secret meeting to elect the pope) in which all cardinals would participate, and decided on taxes for crusades and the prohibition of minor mendicant orders.

フランスのリヨンで開かれた2回のカトリック教会会議。 (1) 第1回 (1245) 　教皇インノケンチウス4世が招集，フランスとスペインの司教を主勢力として約 150名が参加。最大の課題であった神聖ローマ皇帝フリードリヒ2世の破門，帝位剥奪を行い，ラテン帝国防衛と聖地回復のための租税など，22章を決議した。 (2) 第2回 (74) 　ギリシア教会との合同，聖地回復，教会改革を主要議題として教皇グレゴリウス 10世が招集。各地から 200名の司教が参加し，ギリシア教会の名目的代表も加わった。彼らは教皇首位権の規定を含む信条を受容し，ミサではフィリオクェを含む使徒信条が唱えられ，つかのまの東西教会の合同が達成された。全枢機卿参加のコンクラーベ (秘密教皇選挙会) を定め，十字軍のための租税，群小托鉢修道会の禁止などを決めた。
