A general term for compounds of nickel and sulfur.
[Trnickel disulfide]
Chemical formula: Ni ₃ S _2. It is obtained by heating fine nickel powder to 190-280°C in a hydrogen sulfide stream. There are two modifications: high-temperature (orthorhombic) and low-temperature.
[Hexanedickel hexasulfide]
Chemical formula: Ni ₇ S ₆ . It is obtained by vacuum sealing sponge nickel and sulfur in a quartz tube and then heating it for a long time at 500°C. There are two modifications: high-temperature (α) and low-temperature (β). The α form is an orthorhombic crystal system and is stable at 400-573°C.

Chemical formula: NiS.

　化学式Ni₇S₆。海綿状ニッケルと硫黄とを石英管中に真空封入後500℃で長時間加熱すると得られる。高温型(α)と低温型(β)の2変態がある。α形は斜方晶系で400～573℃で安定。
［硫化ニッケル(II)］
　化学式NiS。
