Li Rusong

A military commander in the late Ming Dynasty in China. He was from Tieling, Liaodong (Liaoning). His courtesy name was Zimao. He was the son of Li Chengliang. In 1592, he was promoted to commander after suppressing the Bobai Rebellion in Ningxia as the admiral and military commander in chief of the Shaanxi military counter-rebellion. In the same year, he was appointed military commander in chief of the Japanese naval defense force during the Imjin Rebellion (Bunroku Invasion), and led the armies of Ji, Liao, Baoding, and Shandong to Korea. In May of the following year, he made a surprise attack on Pyongyang under the pretense of a peace agreement, and defeated the army of Konishi Yukinaga. Konishi's forces tried to defend themselves, but with no hope of victory, retreated to Yongsan. Nyoshun pursued them and headed for Hanseong (Seoul), but was defeated by the forces of Kobayakawa Takakage at the Battle of Hekiteikan. In 97, he was appointed military commander of Liaodong, and in April of the following year, he fought off the invasion of the barbarians, attacking their hideout, but was killed in battle.

中国、明(みん)末の武将。遼東鉄嶺(りょうとうてつれい)（遼寧）の人。字(あざな)は子茂。李成梁(りせいりょう)の子。1592年、提督陝西(せんせい)討逆軍務総兵官として寧夏(ねいか)でボバイの乱を平定して功をたて、都督に昇進した。同年に起きた壬辰(じんしん)の乱（文禄(ぶんろく)の役）には防海禦倭(ぼうかいぎょわ)総兵官に任ぜられ、薊(けい)、遼、保定、山東の諸軍を率いて朝鮮に出兵した。翌年5月和議を装って平壌を急襲し、小西行長(ゆきなが)軍を破った。小西軍は防戦に努めたが、勝ち目なく龍山に退却した。如松は追撃して漢城（ソウル）に向かったが、碧蹄館(へきていかん)の戦いで小早川隆景(たかかげ)軍に大敗を喫した。97年遼東総兵官に任ぜられ、翌年4月土蛮の侵入を迎え撃ち、その巣窟(そうくつ)をついたが、戦死した。
