The term "national insurance" refers to insurance provided by the government under the Export Insurance Law (Law No. 67 of 1950) to compensate exporters for losses due to risks associated with export transactions that cannot be covered by ordinary insurance (such as trade restrictions, foreign exchange restrictions, war, and civil unrest in the partner country) in order to facilitate smooth export transactions. There are three methods: (1) insurance provided directly by the government to exporters, (2) insurance provided by the government to compensate for export financing provided by banks, and (3) insurance provided by the government to reinsure export insurance underwritten by insurance companies.
