A term used in Japanese music and theater. A book of lyrics used mainly in Gidayu-bushi plays by the narrator, who places it on the stage during a performance. In Gidayu-bushi plays, it is a large book, about 21 cm wide and 27 cm tall, with five lines of about nine characters per line as standard. In a special style of writing, the names of the verses, punctuation, black-and-white notation, and other notes are also written. 日本音楽・演劇用語。おもに義太夫節などで,語り手の太夫が公演の際に見台 (けんだい) の上に置いて使用する詞章本。義太夫節の場合,横約 21cm,縦約 27cmぐらいの大型本で,1行9字前後で5行が標準。特殊な書体で,曲節名,句読点,墨譜その他の注記も書入れられる。
