Yarlung Sumbo [River] - Yarlung Sumbo

Japanese: ヤルンズアンボ[川] - ヤルンズアンボ

A large river that flows east through the southern Tibet Autonomous Region of China and is the middle and upper reaches of the Brahmaputra River. It originates in Lake Manasarovar and forms a tectonic valley between the Himalayas and the Trans-Himalayan ranges. Its total length in China is about 1,787 km. The drainage basin is the agricultural region of Tibet.

中国，チベット自治区南部を東流し，ブラマプトラ川の中・上流をなす大河。漢字では雅魯蔵布江と記し，ヤルツァンボ江とも呼ぶ。マーナサローワル湖に発源し，ヒマラヤ山脈とトランスヒマラヤ山脈間の構造谷をなす。中国内での全長約1787km。流域はチベットの農業地帯。
