A binding method. Several or several dozen sheets are stacked and stapled together with paper twine. Covers are then added to the front and back, two holes are punched at the top and bottom of the right edge, and the book is bound with decorative braided or flat string, or several thick silk threads. The paper can be folded and stacked in any of the following ways: tetchousou (retsujo binding), kochoso (deccho binding), or fukuro-tsuji. This binding method was already in use at the end of the Heian period, and the original binding is known as Uchigikishu (formerly owned by Yamaguchi Koen), but it has been renovated into a different type of binding in recent years. This binding method is still commonly seen today in photo albums of shrines, temples, and famous places. There is also a theory that tsujiyoso and kochoso are Yamato binding.
