Japanese: 牟岐[町] - むぎ

A town in Kaifu County in the southeastern part of Tokushima Prefecture. Facing the Pacific Ocean, it includes the islands of Teba Island and Oshima Island offshore. The main settlement is at the mouth of the Mugi River, and it is a base for coastal and deep-sea fishing, and a key transportation point to Cape Muroto, with the Mugi Line passing through. The upper and middle reaches of the Mugi River also produce vegetables, fruit trees, and flowers. The coast is part of the Muroto-Anan Coast Quasi-National Park, and there is a natural habitat of Shiratamamo (a natural monument) on Teba Island. 56.62 ^km2 . 4,826 people (2010).
