A hereditary daimyo of the Edo period. In 1558 (Eiroku 1), father and son Masasada and Yasusada appeared before Tokugawa Ieyasu together, and were granted their former territory of Umetsubo in Mikawa Province, becoming vassals of the Tokugawa clan. Due to Yasusada's repeated military achievements, in 1590 (Tensho 18) he was granted a fief of 5,000 koku in Mikashiri, Bushu, and in 1604 (Keicho 9) he was given a fief of 10,000 koku in Koromo, Mikawa Province. In 1619 (Genwa 5) during the reign of Yasunobu, he moved to Kameyama in Ise, but in 1603 (Kan'ei 13) during the reign of Yasumori, he returned to Koromo again. Furthermore, in 1664 (Kanbun 4) during the reign of Yasukatsu, he was granted a fief of 10,000 koku in Mikawa Province. Tahara Domain His fief was increased to over 2,000 koku, and he served as the lord of Tahara domain for generations until the end of the Edo period. 江戸時代の譜代大名。1558年(永禄1)政貞・康貞父子はそろって徳川家康に見参し,旧領三河国梅坪を安堵されて徳川氏の家臣となる。康貞はたびたびの軍功によって90年(天正18)武州瓶尻(みかしり)に5000石の領地を与えられ,さらに1604年(慶長9)には三河国挙母(ころも)1万石を領した。19年(元和5)康信のときに,伊勢の亀山に移ったが,36年(寛永13)康盛のときに再び挙母に帰った。さらに康勝のとき64年(寛文4)に三河国田原藩万2000余石に転封となり,以後,代々田原藩主として幕末に至った。
