This is a Yayoi period ruin located in Higashitojomon, Kawanishi-cho, Kashihara City, Nara Prefecture (formerly Shinzawa Village, Takaichi County). It was buried in the lowlands west of the Ochioka Hills at an altitude of about 150m in the southwest area of Mount Unebi in the southern part of the Nara Basin. In the northwest part of the hill is the Shinzawa Senzuka Tomb Group (Senzuka), which became famous for the discovery of gold earrings and glass bowls, and the Yayoi ruins at the western foot of the hill are commonly called the Shinzawakazu Ruins, after the name of the area. The ruins are located on an alluvial fan between the Soga River flowing north and Mount Senzuka on the right bank, but past excavations have not found any notable remains other than small pits and ditches.
