Date of birth and death unknown. A naturalized person from Baekje who introduced gigaku to Japan. According to the "Nihon Shoki," Ajimashi, who naturalized in the 20th year of the reign of Empress Suiko (612), had studied in the country of Kure and mastered gigaku, so the Imperial Court had him live in Sakurai, Yamato (Nara Prefecture), and gathered young boys to teach him gigaku. Two of his disciples, Mano Obitodeshi and Imakino Ayahito Saimon, are said to have passed on gigaku to future generations. The gigaku mask donated to the former Horyuji Temple is said to have belonged to Ajimashi.
