A town in Kitauwa District, southern Ehime Prefecture. It is located in the basin of the Hiromi River and Meguro River, both tributaries of the Shimanto River. The main settlement, Matsumaru, was once an important location for the Uwajima Domain. Rice, livestock and sericulture are practiced, and fruit and tea are also produced.
