Born: May 22, 1882.
[Died] May 17, 1958.
German architect. Studied at the Technical University of Stuttgart and the Technical University of Dresden. Active in Berlin from 1921, he was a member of the Deutscher Werkbund and was active in the architectural world of the Weimar period as a theorist, publishing "The Way to Form" in the first issue of the magazine "Form" (1925). In 1928, he participated in the first general assembly of SIAM (International Congress of Modern Architecture) as Germany's representative. Characterized by organic plans that make extensive use of curves, his representative works include the Farm at Gargau (25, Lübeck) and the Great Sietrunck in Siemensstadt (31).

[Died] c. 1554. Eichstätt German sculptor. Active in Bavaria. Many of his works are small statues and reliefs, and show the influence of Italian Renaissance in the late Gothic style. His work "Saint Willibald" (c. 1514, Eichstätt Cathedral).

ドイツの建築家。シュツットガルト工科大学,ドレスデン工科大学に学ぶ。 1921年よりベルリンで活動,ドイツ工作連盟に名を連ね,機関誌『フォルム』の第1号 (1925) に「形態への道程」を発表するなど,理論家としてワイマール時代の建築界で活躍。 28年には,第1回シアム (近代建築国際会議) 総会にドイツの代表として参加。曲線を多用する有機的なプランが特徴で,代表作にガルガウの農場 (25,リューベック) ,ジーメンスシュタットの大ジートルンク (31) などがある。
