〘 noun 〙① A place where learning takes place. School. Fuya. [Kanchiin Hon Myogisho (1241)]② An abbreviation of "Fumiya no Tsukasa (writing shop)".③ A book store. Bookshop. ※Ninjyohon, Shuniro Umeji Homomi (1832-33), later "The trendy act of selling rice boxes at Fumiya bookstores"④ In the Edo period, a person whose job was to send letters within Edo city. Referred to as opposed to a long-distance courier. ※Zappai, Yanagi Taru-nii (1789), "A woman calls herself a bunyadon mougosanna"

Bunya [Bunya]

Kabuki Shosakuto. Kiyomoto. Lyrics by Matsumoto Koji. Music by Kiyomoto Saibei I. Choreography by Nishikawa Senzo IV and others. First performed at the Edo Nakamuraza in 1831. One of the five-form dance pieces "Rokukasen Sugata no Irodori " by Nakamura Shikan II and Iwai Kumesaburo II. Aya Yasuhide dances with court ladies, depicting the atmosphere of Edo's pleasure quarters and downtown.

ぶんや【文屋】

歌舞伎所作事。清元。松本幸二作詞。初世清元斎兵衛作曲。四世西川扇蔵ら振付。天保二年(一八三一)江戸中村座初演。二世中村芝翫と二世岩井粂三郎との五変化舞踊「六歌仙容彩(ろっかせんすがたのいろどり)」の一つ。文屋の康秀が官女を相手に、江戸の遊里や下町の情緒を踊る。
