Japanese: 振子式秤 - ふりこしきはかり（英語表記）pendulum scale

A general term for scales that use a pendulum in the balancing mechanism. A type of inclined lever scale. Basically, a weight is fixed to a beam to form a pendulum, and the object hung from the pivot point of the lever is balanced with the restoring force of the pendulum, and the mass is read from the inclination of the lever. There are letter scales and denier scales (Figure 1), and the scales are unevenly spaced. The balancing mechanism for dial-type indicating scales is combined with a special cam (a type of lever whose arm length changes depending on the inclination) to create evenly spaced scales. Figure 2 is an explanatory diagram of a pendulum cam platform scale, in which the bottom end of the tape that wraps around the cam is connected to the force point of the long machine, the object on the platform is balanced by the pendulum, and the mass is read from a pointer that is linked to the pendulum.
